Meeting in Chicago with Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis also was attended by John Tolman BLET National Legislative VP, Marcus Ruff BLET National VP, and Jerome Schlitner FELA Attorney.

Groundbreaking in Joliet at Union Pacific’s new Elwood Intermodal Site. Spoke with CEO Jim Young and VP Bob Tuner and was reassured that BLET members would be working at that facility.

Attended a rally at historic Pullman celebrating the 115^th anniversary of Labor Day. Sponsored by Illinois AFL-CIO and CFL.

BLET Southwest Conference Meeting in Kanas City.

Davenport, Iowa meeting with FRA J. Strang discussed safety issues on the ICE/DME Div 266 Adam Farence L/R in attendance.

Meeting with CREATE partners from City of Chicago, BNSF Gov’t Affairs, UP Gov’t , Belt VP

CSXT Gov’t affairs.

Fund raiser for Speaker John Madigan and the Illinois Democratic Party spoke with a number of State Senators and State Representatives that were in attendance.

In conclusion some meetings attended are for record of appearance. It is very critical to attend these meetings for the purpose of recognition of the brotherhood and to develop working relationships.
